About Me

I’m a local web designer based in Inner West Sydney, dedicated to making website design simple, stress-free, and accessible for small businesses.

Kirsty Freelance Web Designer Inner West Sydney in Doorway

Hi, I’m Kirsty the face behind Reflx Designs.

Having worked in many small businesses I understand the pain of not having access to digital marketing resources and not having the time or budget to work with large-scale digital agencies.

This is where I put my hand up!

For the past 20 years I have worked on company internal and external websites across a range of industries. Whether partnering with digital agencies or rolling up my sleeves to teach myself, I have gained a wealth of knowledge and experience in how to build and design websites.

If you’re looking for someone to collaborate with, someone who’s in your corner who wants your website to succeed just as much as you do, then you’re in the right place.

I love to work with service providers and small businesses to get the ‘tech’ stuff done so they can focus and shine in their core business goals.

So if big digital agencies (+ big budget!) isn’t your thing and you prefer to have a personalised, one-on-one service experience, I would love to hear from you.

FAQs

  • As part of my process in designing and building your website, I will help guide you in identifying your business marketing goals and how your website can contribute to those goals. By working through my website planner tool, we will plan and document how your website should be structured.

  • If you don’t have an existing brand, I can help you select fonts and a colour palette for your website that will reflect your new business or endeavour. If you are interested in investing in a brand (logo, colour palette, fonts & imagery) I can assist you with finding the right person to take on this task. A website will always look more professional if the branding is clear and consistent.

    • The first step is to contact me so we can book an initial discussion over the phone or Zoom.

    • If we decide we are the right fit and you wish to proceed, I will send you a quote and agreement to sign. When the 50% upfront payment is received, I will book in a date for our website strategy meeting.

    • With the meeting date booked, I will send you the website planner tool to review and complete prior to our website strategy meeting.

    • At our strategy meeting we will discuss your marketing goals so I can learn more about your business. This will be the launching pad for planning and designing your website. We will discuss the actionable tasks required and establish a timeline strategy to get your website launched.

    • The next stage is documenting your website structure and the build of your very important Homepage. You will get the chance to review and sign-off on the Homepage design to ensure we are on the right track. When the design of your Homepage is good to go, I will build the rest of your website. You will be able to give feedback and change requests during two rounds of amendments.

    • When the amendments are implemented, and the website is fully tested, I will hold a Zoom meeting with you so I can walk you through the website to show you how it works. We are then ready to send your website live!!

    • Handover documentation will be provided for all websites, and I will be available for 30 days email support for the 5 Page Websites.

  • I genuinely love creating websites from the initial planning to the design and launch. I also love to partner with small business owners or solo entrepreneurs to help reduce the stress of starting a website project. Yes, you will still need to put in the work to plan your website content but my mission is help you through each stage so you can be proud of your efforts and the result.

  • Here are some of the key reasons I prefer Squarespace:

    • All-in-one platform - Squarespace will host your website, register your domain for you, or easily connect to your existing domain.

    • Easier to maintain – After handover of your website, you will find the Squarespace platform easier to maintain and work in. Some other platforms like WordPress provide advanced functionality customisation, but all those extra add-ons and plug-ins require more attention and maintenance. Most small business owners don’t have the time or knowledge to manage these required updates so they end up becoming a headache to deal with. The Squarespace platform is continuously being maintained by their team of experts, so you don’t have to worry about that.

    • Easier to use – Squarespace has a user-friendly dashboard, and you will find updating your website pages easier to do if you choose to manage that yourself.

    • Support – Squarespace provides online chat and email support, plus detailed articles, and video tutorials so you can find the support you need in one place.

  • When creating websites, I will always implement the standard best practice SEO principles to ensure it is optimised for success. Squarespace builds its sites for clean indexing by Google and has SEO tools built in so you can make sure your website is following all the standard SEO guidelines.

Squarespace also has a SEO paid plug-in called SEO Space that can be utilised for advanced SEO principles.

But remember, the key SEO principle to follow is quality content, presented in a way that works for people visiting your site. If they like what they see and engage with your website, this automatically assists with SEO.
